Big Data and Peace

Senior Research Fellow from the Institute for Economics and Peace (the brains behind Vision of Humanity), Dr David Hammond, will join the academic staff of the War Studies department at King's College in London.

Dr Hammond will teach a course to PhD candidates and investigate the cross-section between peace, conflict and statistical analysis.

His classes will focus on how quantitative research can be used to identify the socio-economic factors that encourage peaceful societies. Part of the course includes an analysis of how Big Data can be used to track and understand conflict, as well as inform early warning systems.
