International Day of Peace 2014

To celebrate the International Day of Peace on the 21st of September, Vision of Humanity wants you to take a look around you and acknowledge the small acts of peace going on in your community.

We want to celebrate everyday peace activism and recognise the people in our communities that are helping create a more peaceful world.

Nominate a peace activist

Know someone who you think is helping create a more peaceful world in their own way? Share their story and photograph with us.

Simply email us at with the subject line Peace Activist. Tell us in 25 words or less why you have nominated this person as a peace activist.

On the 21st of October, exactly one month after the International Day of Peace, we will share with you our collection of peace heroes.

What does a peace activist do?

Peace activism comes in many different forms. It can be taking the time out to help someone cross the road, or reporting an act of corruption- it can be something as simple as starting a conversation about peace or asking someone what peace means to them.
